يكي از وجوه شيوايي و بلاغت زبان مولوي عنصر تركيب سازي است. پژوهشگران بيشتر به ادراك رموز عرفاني مثنوي توجه كرده و از روساخت و زبان مثنوي اشاره وار گذشته اند. يكي از فنون مولوي در انعطاف بخشي به صورت كلام و باروري موسيقي كناري، به كارگيري تركيب هاي بكر اشتقاقي در جايگاه قافيه است. بيشتر تركيب هاي برساخته او در مكان قافيه به پيروي از اصل برجسته سازي با قاعده افزايي ها و هنجارگريزي هاي مخصوص است كه التذاذ وافر خواننده را از شعرش موجب مي شود. بر انگيختن توجه مخاطب به صورت كلام يا نگارگري در عرصه سخن سرايي، افزودن بر بار موسيقيايي كلام و انباشت جاي خالي قافيه از مهم ترين انگيزه هاي مولوي از به كارگيري اين فن است. انواع تركيبات اشتقاقي كه مولوي جهت غناي موسيقي كناري و باروري قوافي شعري در مثنوي نمايانده است ذيل عناويني چون تركيبات ونددار، تركيبات شبه ونددار، صفات فاعلي مركب مرخم، تركيبات وصفي، تركيبات مصدري و كلمات پيوندي تحليل و بررسي شده اند.
