لازمه ي تداوم و بقاي انقلاب، شناخت چالش ها و بحران هاي فراروي آن است. عدم شناخت و درك اين چالش ها و آسيب ها باعث مي شود انقلاب به سوي نابودي و اضمحلال كشيده شود. انقلاب اسلامي ايران كه بر پايه ي تعاليم حيات بخش اسلام بنا نهاده شده، توجه و اهتمام به امور مسلمين را از تكاليف و وظايف خود مي داند و به دليل همين ماهيت ديني و انقلابي خود در مركز توطئه و كينه دشمنان قرار دارد و آنان به هر طرقي تلاش مي كنند تا به انقلاب و نظام اسلامي آسيب هايي وارد سازند و آن را با چالش هايي مواجه كنند. مجموعه ي اين چالش ها و آسيبهاي منطقه اي و بين المللي را بايد در چارچوب سياست خارجي بررسي كرد، چرا كه اكثر آنها جنبه ي سياسي دارد و از اين منظر بايد به آنها نگريست. از اين رو سوال اصلي اين پژوهش آن است كه چالش هاي سياسي خارجي فراروي انقلاب اسلامي در انديشه امام خميني (ره) كدامند؟ براي پاسخ به اين سوال انديشه سياسي امام در چارچوب نظريه بحران اسپريگنز مورد بررسي قرار گرفت. از نظر امام خميني اين چالش ها و آسيب ها چنان مخرب است كه اگر در مقابل آنها مقاومت و ايستادگي نشود وابستگي بيش از پيش و عقب ماندگي مسلمين را در پي خواهد داشت. نوآوري اين مقاله ، معرفي يك چهارچوب نظري پويا و مناسب براي مطالعه ي چالش ها و بحران هاي سياسي و فهم و درك دقيق تر و بهتر نظريه ي سياسي امام خميني و ساير انديشمندان است. اين تحقيق با استفاده از روش تحليل اسنادي، اسناد و مدارك مربوط را گردآوري كرده است.
