تاثير گشودگي، ظرفيت تحقيقاتي، همكاري بين كاركردي و نظام انگيزشي بر عملكرد نوآوري بنگاه هاي دفاعي

Impact of Openness, R&D Capacity, Cross Functional Cooperation and Incentive System on Innovation Performance in Defense Firms

درسال هاي اخير، تمايل بنگاه هاي دفاعي به نوآوريِ بيشتر از يك سو و مطرح شدن راهبرد نوآوري باز از سوي ديگر، آنها را كه ماهيتاً بنگاه هايي بسته و فاقد تعاملات گسترده بوده اند به سمت گشودگي و تعاملات بيشتر سوق داده است. با توجه به اينكه گشودگي (باز شدن) بنگاه هاي دفاعي به دلايل امنيتي هزينه هايي را به آنان تحميل مي كند، سياستگذاران و مديران همواره با اين سوال روبرو بوده اند كه آيا گشودگي بر عملكرد نوآورانۀ آنها موثر است يا خير. براي بررسي اين موضوع، نوآوري و گشودگي در 99 بنگاه دفاعي سنجش گرديد. همچنين، ظرفيت تحقيقاتي ، نظام انگيزشي و همكاريهاي درون بنگاهي نيز به عنوان ساير متغيرهاي موثر بر نوآوري سنجيده شدند. تحليل داده ها با استفاده از مدل سازي معادلات ساختاري نشان داد كه تاثير مستقيم گشودگي بر نوآوري بنگاه ها ناچيز است ولي بطور غير مستقيم و از طريق ظرفيت تحقيقاتي، تاثير قابل توجهي بر نوآوريِ بنگاه هاي مذكور دارد. بعلاوه، سيستم انگيزشي و همكاري هاي بين كاركردي اين بنگاه ها تأثير معناداري بر عملكرد نوآوري آنها ندارد كه مي تواند ناشي از ماهيت دفاعي آنها باشد.

Recently, the need for more innovations on the one hand, and prescription of networking policy on the other hand, have urged these closed firms to open up and interact with others. Due to security issues, openness imposes cost on defense firms. As a result, policy makers and managers have long been facing the question of whether innovation performance of defense firms depends on their openness.To investigate this issue, innovation performance as dependent variable and openness as independent variable were measured using questionnaire in 99 defense firms. Following the literature, research capacity,incentive system and cross functional collaborations were also measured as independent variables influencing innovation. Resulting data was then analysed using structural equation modeling. The results unexpectedly showed that the direct effect of openness on innovation performance is negligible. Nevertheless, indirect effect of openness, via research capacity, on innovation performance was considerable. Besides, incentive system and cross functional collaborations had no meaningful effect on innovation performance of defense firms.
