The Mysterious Birth and Choice in the Story of Solomon in the Stories of the Quran and the Torah with a Reading of the Avestan Myth of Jam

برخي عناصر داستاني شخصيتي به نام جم/يم كه در كتاب اوستا موجود است، شباهت‌هاي صوري بسيار با قصص توراتي و قرآني مربوط به سليمان (ع) دارد؛ همان‌گونه كه تصور مي‌شود، داستان جم/يم در شاهنامه به دليل شباهت بسيار، مي‌تواند نمادي از داستان سليمان (ع) نيز باشد. دو مبحث «تولد اسرارآميز» و «اجتباء» كه در اين پژوهش، مرتبط با خوانش‌هاي موجود درباره اين دو شخصيت بدانها مي‌پردازيم، يا در مطالعات پيشين مغفول مانده يا بدون مقايسۀ مطالب موجود در قرآن كريم، تورات، اوستا و بي‌توجه به برخي جنبه‌هاي اساسي ديگر نگاشته شده است. مقاله حاضر در پي اين هدف است كه شباهت‌هاي روايات در دو جنبه از جنبه‌هاي محل بحث را به ‌صورت ريشه‌اي بررسي و تحليل كند. روش پژوهش در مقاله حاضر، تحليل محتواي روايت‌هاي موجود در قرآن، تورات و اوستا از طريق مراجعه مستقيم خواهد بود. در عين حال، از تفاسير معتبر نيز براي تحليل آيات قرآني بهره مي‌بريم. نتايجي كه از اين پژوهش با استفاده از روايت‌شناسي داستاني حاصل خواهد شد، خواننده را از طريق مطالعه تطبيقي با بخش‌هاي جديدي از جنبه‌هاي جالب و نسبتاً مشابه زندگاني جم در اوستا و سليمان (ع) در متون الاهي، آشنا مي‌كند.

Some elements of the story of a character called “Jam” or “Yam” in Avesta are formally similar to stories in the Torah and the Quran concerning Solomon. As can be imagined, the story of Jam/Yam in Shahnama can be a symbol of Solomon for remarkable similarities between the two. The two issues of “mysterious birth” and “choice” I deal with in this research as relevant to extant readings of the two characters were either overlooked in previous studies or discussed without a comparison of contents in the Quran, the Torah, and Avesta and without consideration of certain other fundamental aspects. In the present paper, I aim to radically consider and analyze the similarities between the stories in the two above dimensions. The method is to analyze the content of narrations in the Quran, the Torah, and Avesta. In the meanwhile, I deploy reliable exegeses of Quranic verses. The findings via fictional narratology introduces the reader to new aspects of the interesting and rather similar lifes of Jam in Avesta and Solomon in divine scriptures through a comparative study.
