جاسوسي يكي از مؤلفه هايي است كه در حوزه نظام اطلاعاتي- امنيتي مورد بحث و كاوش صاحبان فن قرار ميگيرد. از اين حيث متون منثور كلاسيك فارسي ( قرن 4تا 8 ه ق )، نيز پهنۀ گسترده اي براي پژوهش در حوزۀ نظام اطلاعاتي حكومت هاي گذشته را فراهم كرده، تا لايه هاي اطلاعاتي را بشكافيم و به اغراض و اهداف اين مهم دست يازيم. آثاري چون: تاريخ بيهقي، تاريخ جهانگشا، تاريخ وصّاف، سياست نامه، عتبه الكتبه، قابوس نامه، گلستان، اخلاق ناصري، كه لايه هاي هزارتوي فكر سردمداران نظام سياسي را واكاوي و ضرورت مورد استفاده قرار دادن فعاليت هاي اطلاعاتي و گماشتن جاسوسان و اصل جمع آوري اخبار را به خوبي بيان كرده؛ و حتي الگوهاي راهبردي موثري را نيز براي فعاليتهاي ضد جاسوسي ارائه ميكنند. همچنين آثاري چون: كليله و دمنه و مرزبان نامه كه يك آرمان شهر سياسي را از زبان حيوانات ترسيم مي نمايد، به معرفي هر چه بهتر اين مؤلفه پرداخته اند.

Spying is one of the issues being discussed and explored by the specialists of the intelligence-security system. The classical Persian prose texts (from the 4th to 8th centuries AH) provide a wide area of study in the field of information systems of past governments, to explore the information layers and to achieve the goals and objectives of this important issue. Literary works such as Tārīkh-i Bayhaqī (Bayhaqi’s History), The History of Jahanshah, Siyāsatnāmeh (The letter of Policies), Atabeh Al-Kataba, Ghabous Nameh (Letter of Ghabous), Golestan, Akhlaqe Naseri (Naserian Ethics) explore the mental maze of political system leaders and state the necessity to apply information activities and employing the spies and observing the principle of collecting news. They also provide effective strategic patterns for anti-spying activities. Furthermore, literary works such as Kelile va Damneh and Marzbān-Nāmeh, illustrating a political utopia in animal language, introduce the issue in the best way.
