Investigating Relationship between “Ethnicity” and “Urban Spaces and Customs” Case-study: Garmsar

در پژوهش حاضر، از طريق مطالعۀ شهر گرمسار، به رابطۀ ميان فضاي شهري و عامل انساني‌اي كه فضاها را هم مصرف و هم بازتوليد مي‌كند، پرداخته شده است. به علت ويژگي خاص گرمسار كه از همزيستي چند قوم در كنار هم طي چندين سال متمادي ايجاد شده، بيشترِ توجه تحقيق به مسئله قوميت است. پژوهش حاضر از نوع توصيفي تحليلي است و گردآوري داده‌ها به روش اسنادي، مصاحبۀ كانوني و مصاحبه بوده است. داده‌هاي اين تحقيق نشان مي‌دهند كه به طور كلي قوميت تأثير معناداري بر شكل‌گيري محله‌هاي گرمسار ندارد و اقوام مختلف به صورت پراكنده در همۀ محله‌هاي شهر زندگي مي‌كنند. مردم گرمسار در ذهنيتي كه از شهر خود دارند، قوميت خود را دخالت نمي‌دهند و از شهرشان مفهومي يكپارچه در ذهن دارند. آن‌ها براي معرفي خود بيش از اين‌كه از قوم خود ياد كنند، از گرمساري بودن نام مي‌برند. در عين حال هنوز مردم در انتخاب همسر و نمايندۀ شوراي شهر و دوست‌، عضوي از قوم خود را به ديگر اقوام ترجيح مي‌دهند.

Through studying the case of Garmsar, this article addresses the relationship between urban spaces and the human agent who both reproduces and consumes these spaces. The main focus of the article is the concept of ethnicity because it is the specific character of Garmsar which is made up of many different coexisting ethnic populations during several decades. It is a descriptive-analytical research and methods for data gathering are documentary method, focus group and interview. Findings did not show any meaningful relationship between ethnicity and the formation of neighborhoods. Different ethnic populations have been spread randomly throughout different quarters of the city. The people of Garmsar do not involve ethnicity in the images of the city in their minds; in the other words they have an integrated image of their city. They introduce themselves by referring to their city, not to their ethnicity. However, in choosing their spouse and voting the city council candidates and also making new friendships they prefer a member of their ethnic group.
