A review on “Research methods in documents of Nahj al-Balagha” by Mohammad Dashti

نهج‌البلاغه كتابي حديثي با متني مرسل است. ارسال روايات موجود در نهج‌البلاغه، باعث تشكيك در صحّت انتساب آن به امام علي(ع) شده و به همين جهت، برخي از دانشمندان شيعي با استخراج بعضي از مدارك و مصادر، به اين شبهه، پاسخ داده‌اند. اين آثار در عين ارائۀ برخي از مصادر، از اشكال يا خطا نيز مصون نبوده‌اند. در اين تحقيق با توجه به شهرتي كه آثار مرحوم دشتي در زمينۀ نهج‌البلاغه دارد، به نقد كتابِ «روش هاي تحقيق در اسناد و مدارك نهجالبلاغه» ايشان با روش اسنادي و تحليلي پرداخته شده است. نتايج پژوهش حاكي از اين است كه اين اثر در عين برخورداري از برخي نوآوري‌ها، داراي اشتباهات و مشكلاتي نيز هست؛ نقل بدون بررسي از ديگر كتب، علمي‌نبودن شيوۀ استخراج اسناد و نوع مصادر انتخابي، تداخل بين «نسخه‌شناسي» با «سندشناسي» و ارجاع به برخي «شروح نهج‌البلاغه»، استناد به آثار متأخّرين به‌عنوان سند، دور در برخي مصادر، عدم برّرسي كامل منابع موجود و بي‌نظمي در بيان مصادر، همگي از جمله نقاط ضعف اين كتاب است كه در پژوهش حاضر به‌دست آمده و لزوم اصلاح اين كتاب و نيز تلاش بيشتر در كشف و استخراج ساير مصادر را مبرهن مي‌گرداند.

Nahj al-Balagha is a hadith book written in simple prose. Transmission of Nahj al-Balagha traditions resulted in casting doubt about their authenticity and their attribution to Imam Ali (Peace be upon him). Therefore, some Shiite scholars have responded to such doubts by extracting some evidence and sources. However, these sources have not been without deficiencies and faults. The study, regarding the reputation of Dashti’s works on Nahj al-Balagha, is to give a review of the book “Research methods in documents of Nahj al-Balagha” by documentary analysis method. Thus, the results show that despite the innovations, the book has some problems and defects as well, including: quoting other sources without checking, the use of non-scientific practices to explore documents and selected sources, the interference between codicology and documentology and referring to some “Nahj al-Balagha interpretations”, citing some recent works as evidence, the role of some sources, lack of giving a thorough review to the sources and irregularities in presenting them. They are all among the weaknesses of the book which was revealed by the study and necessitates the revision of the book and more efforts in exploration and extraction of other sources.
