A Critical Approach to the Codicology of “Misbah Al-Shariah and Miftah Al-Haghighah”

مصباح الشريعة و مفتاح الحقيقة كتابي است با مضمون اخلاقي و عرفاني و منسوب به امام‌ صادق (ع) كه در برهه‌هاي مختلف تاريخي موردتوجه عرفا و صوفيان بوده است و برخي صوفيان شروحي بر آن نگاشته‌اند. سبك نگارش كتاب نيز ازجهت چينش باب‌ها و محتوا بسيار شبيه به آثار صوفيانه است. درستي انتساب اين كتاب به امام‌ صادق (ع) همواره ميان دانشمندان چالش‌برانگيز بوده است. بررسي بهانه‌ها و دستاويزهاي مخالفان و موافقان نشان مي‌دهد اين دلايل در موارد مهمي برپايۀ بخش‌هايي از اين كتاب است كه به‌هيچ‌روي از بخش‌هاي اصيل آن نبوده و بعدها به آن افزوده ‌شده است و يا بوده و ناديده انگاشته شده است. اين موضوع مهم ارزشِ پرداختن به نسخه‌هاي خطي اين كتاب را دوچندان مي‌كند. ازطرف‌ديگر، بررسي نسخه‌هاي خطي آگاهي‌هاي ارزش‌مندي را دربارۀ تاريخ پيدايش اين كتاب به‌دست مي‌دهد. نسخه‌هاي خطي اين كتاب داراي چندگانگي‌هاي فراواني است كه كم‌تر در كتاب ديگري يافت مي‌شود. چشم‌گيرترين اختلاف‌هاي موجود در اين نسخه‌ها به اختلاف در مقدمه، تعداد ابواب، محتواي كتاب، و اختلاف در بخش پاياني كتاب ‌بازمي‌گردد كه بايد بررسي شوند

Attributed to Imam Ja’Far Al-Sadiq (AS), Miṣbāḥ Al-Sharīʻah Wa-MiftāḤ Al-ḤaqīQah (Lantern of the Path) is a book with moral and mystical contents, which has come to mystics and Sufis’ attention at various points of history on which some Sufis have written commentaries. The writing style of the book, taking the content and the arrangement of chapters into consideration, is remarkably similar to Sufis’ works. Whether or not this book has been correctly attributed to Imam Sadiq (AS) has always been a challenge among scholars. An analysis of the arguments made and discussions generated by both opponents and proponents shows that such reasons, particularly given for important issues, are based on some parts of this book, which are by no means from the original parts of the book but the parts added to it later or the parts which have existed but ignored or neglected. This important issue makes it worthwhile to do codicological studies on the manuscripts of this book. On the other hand, reviewing manuscripts gives valuable insights into the history of the book's origins. There are numerous manuscripts of this book and plurality of contents which are rarely found in other books. The most striking differences in these versions are those in the introduction, number of chapters, content of the book, and endings that should be investigated.
