A Critical Review of “After Method”

در اين مقاله مي‌خواهيم به‌ معرفي، نقد، و بررسي كتاب در جست‌وجوي روش نوشتة جان لا و ترجمة مجتبي عزيزي بپردازيم. جان لا اين كتاب را با عنوان After Method در سال 2004 نوشته و انتشارات راتلج آن را منتشر كرده است. در جست‌وجوي روش خواستار تحولي عميق در روش‌شناسي است و به نقد هستي‌شناسي و معرفت‌شناسي رايج مي‌پردازد. در مقدمة مقاله، به زمينة نظري پيدايش كتاب، ايده‌هاي اصلي آن، و معرفي مؤلف و مترجم اشاره مي‌شود. درادامه، كتاب از دو جهت صوري و محتوايي موردنقد قرار مي‌گيرد. از جهت صوري برخي نكات نگارشي، حروف‌چيني، صفحه‌آرايي، و اشتباهات تايپي بيان مي‌شود. در بخش محتوايي، ابتدا ترجمة اصطلاحات تخصصي متن موردبحث قرار مي‌گيرد. سپس جملاتي از كتاب انتخاب‌ شده كه ترجمة آن فهم مطلب را دشوار كرده است. ميان متن اصلي و متن ترجمه مقايسه‌هايي صورت گرفته و اشكالات ترجمه نشان داده شده است. پس از آن پيش‌نهاداتي نيز ارائه شده است. ترجمۀ چنين آثار بديعي، ازيك‌سو، ادبيات بحث به زبان فارسي را گسترده و غني مي‌سازد و ازسوي‌ديگر، همواره با دشواري‌هايي روبه‌رو است. ابهام در ترجمة برخي اصطلاحات تخصصي و ناتواني در انتقال درست مفاهيم به خواننده مشكلات اصلي ترجمه است.

In this paper, we intend to introduce, criticize and analyze the book “After Method”; written by John Law and translated by Mojtaba Azizi. The book is published in 2004 by Rutledge. “After Method” is asking a massive evolution in methodology. Also, it criticizes the main stream of ontology and epistemology. First, theoretical context of the book, its main ideas, the writer and the translator are introduced. In the following, the book is criticized for both formal and substantive content. Formally, some writing tips, typographic and editorial notes are shown. In the content section, firstly the translation of the specialized terminology is discussed. Then, some sentences are chosen which translation make difficult to understand the text. Comparisons between the original text and the translated text are made. The problems are shown and suggestions are also provided. The translation of such novels, on the one hand, expands and enriches the literature in Persian, and on the other hand, it is always confronted with difficulties. The ambiguity of translating some of the specialized terminology and the inability to translate the concepts into the reader is the main problems of the translation.
