Assessment of Auditory Skills of Children who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing

زمينه: بخش يكپارچه هر برنامه جامع تربيت شنوايي ارزيابي جداگانه مهارت‌هاي شنيداري كودك است. به علاوه، بيشتر درمانگران تمايل دارند توانايي درك شنيداري دانش‌آموزان خود را به شيو‌ه‌ي رسمي‌تر و يكسان‌تري ارزيابي كنند تا با مقايسه‌ي اين ارزيابي‌ها بتوانند آنها را جهت فعاليت‌هاي ارتباطي، در دسته‌هاي تازه‌اي قرار دهند. نتيجه گيري: در خردسالان به دليل محدوديت رشد شناختي و اندامي، ارزيابي و مشاهده غيررسمي داراي اهميت زيادي است. در كودكان بزرگتر، عموماً ارزيابي رسمي‌تر درك كلي توانايي‌هاي گفتار امكان‌پذير است. آزمون‌هاي درك شنيداري متنوعي در دسترس‌اند تا نيازهاي خاص هر كودك به طور مناسبي برآورده شود. در اين مقاله به مرور اجمالي برخي از آزمون‌هاي ارزيابي ادراك گفتار در كودكان ناشنوا/كم شنوا (آزمون توانا، آزمون لينگ، آزمون مدرّس) پرداخته شده است.

Background: An integral part of a comprehensive auditory training program is the assessment of individual auditory skills. In addition, most therapists will want to evaluate the hearing ability of their pupils in a more formal manner and in approximately the same way and comparing their auditory abilities to regroup them for communication activities. Conclusion: Evaluation and informal observation are more important for young children; it is because of the limitation in their physical and cognitive development. Therefore, informal testing and observation are relied upon heavily with this age group. For older children, more formal, in-depth assessment of overall speech perception abilities generally is possible. A variety of tests should be available for assessment purposes so that the particular needs of each individual can be met adequately. In this article some of these tests for deaf / hard of hearing children (Tavana test, Ling test, GASP/MODARRES test and so on) are reviewed.
