معناداري زبان دين يكي از مسائل مهم فلسفه دين است كه با طرح ديدگاه بازي هاي زباني در اوايل قرن بيستم وارد مرحله ي نويني شد. ديدگاه افعال گفتاريِ آستين، با تكيه بر ديدگاه ويتگنشتاين متأخر و با نگاه كاركردگرايانه، ماهيت زبان را ، فعل و كنش مي داند و معنا را از رهگذر متن و بستر قابل فهم مي داند. اين صورتبندي از نظريه معنا، راه را براي معناداري غني تر زبان ديني هموار مي سازد. جيمز مك كلندان با بهره از اين ديدگاه، معنا داري زبان ديني را داراي مؤلفه هاي عرفي، عاطفي و توصيفي معرفي كرده و هركدام از آن ها را از شروط اصلي معناداري زبان مي داند و با طرح اين نظرگاه اهميت وجوه و جوانب مختلف يك گفتار ديني را حفظ مي كند. در اين نوشتار با بررسي ديدگاه افعال گفتاري و نظريه ي مك كلندان، موفقيت اين ديدگاه در زبان ديني را مورد ارزيابي قرار داده ايم.

A study of McClendon's perspective on religious language based on Austin's Speech -act
Meaningfulness of the religious language is one of the central issues of the philosophy of religion, which came into a new stage by the presentation of language games in early twentieth century. John Austin's speech act theory which was founded on the late Wittgenstein's view as well as on the theory of functionalism, introduces the nature of language as an act and considers meaning through context. This formulation of the theory of meaning paves the wa y for a richer meaningful religious language. using this approach, James McClendon identifies conventional- affective - descriptive conditions as main conditions for meaningful language and by presenting this view, maintains the significance of different aspects of religious utterance. In this paper, we evaluate the successfulness of this perspective in the religious language by investigating the theory of speech-act and McClendon's theory.
