Studying the impact of students’ self- efficacy and self- handicapping on dissertation/thesis completion

هدف: هدف از انجام اين پژوهش بررسي تأثير مؤلفه هاي خودكارآمدي و خودناتوان سازي دانشجويان بر اتمام پايان نامه/ رساله است. روش: پژوهش حاضر از لحاظ هدف كاربردي و از نظر روش توصيفي و از نوع همبستگي است. جامعه آماري اين تحقيق كليه دانشجويان كارشناسي ارشد و دكتري ورودي سالهاي 89 تا 94 دانشگاه علامه طباطبايي است. ابزار گردآوري داده ها در قالب دو پرسشنامه استاندارد ميان 364 نفر از دانشجويان به روش نمونه گيري تصادفي طبقه اي توزيع و تعداد 226 عدد جمع آوري شد. براي بررسي رابطه ميان متغيرهاي مستقل با متغير وابسته، آزمون ماتريس همبستگي و جهت مطالعه تأثير هر يك از متغيرهاي مستقل بر متغير وابسته، آزمون رگرسيون چندگانه استفاده و با كمك نرم افزارspss محاسبه شده است. يافته ها: نتايج حاصل از اين پژوهش بيانگر عدم تأثير مؤلفه هاي خودكارآمدي و خودناتوان سازي دانشجويان بر اتمام پايان نامه/ رساله است. در راستاي ارتقاء سطح كيفي پژوهش هاي دانشگاهي، شناسايي و تسهيل دشواري ها و موانع دروني و بيروني موجود بر سر راه نگارش اين پژوهش ها بايد مورد توجه خاص مسوؤلان دانشگاهي قرار گيرد.

Purpose:This study aimed to investigate the impact of students self- efficacy and self- handicapping on dissertation/thesis completion. Method: As an applied research, it was conducted based on descriptive and correlation method. Statistical population of the study included Ph.d and masters students, between years of 89-94 Allameh Tabataba’i University (ATU). The data gathering tool was 2 standard questionnaires which were distributed among 364 students by stratified random sampling method and gathered 226 questionnaires. Matrix correlation test was used to study the relationship between independent variables and dependent variable, and multi regression test was applied for studying the impact of independent variables on dependent variable by using spss software. Findings: Results showed that there is no impact of self- efficacy and self handicapping on dissertation/thesis completion. To promoting quality of academic research, It’s important for academic authorities to pay attention to identification and surmount of dissertation/thesis writing internal and external obstacles.
