زمينه: چالش‌هاي موجود و پيش روي بشر امروز، از قبيل مسائل اقتصادي، محيطي و اجتماعي، از چالش‌هاي مهم قرن جديد هستند. به‌منظور حل اين مشكلات از سوي صاحب‌نظران، توسعه پايدار مطرح گرديده است. به منظور رسيدن به توسعه پايدار لزوم توجه علوم مختلف به اين مقوله احساس مي‌شود، تحقيق در عمليات نيز در راستاي وظايف اخلاقي خود بايستي امروزه بيش از گذشته، با توجه به پيچيدگي‌هاي مسائل جامعه، نقش خود را در فرايند تصميم‌گيري سياست‌گذارن توسعه پايدار ايفا كند. روش كار: در اين مطالعه مروري ضمن پرداختن به مسائل مربوط به توسعه پايدار و پيچيدگي‌هاي جهان امروز به اين امر توجه شده است كه رويكردهاي سنتي تحقيق در عمليات جوابگوي مسائل پيچيده و ساختار نيافته امروزي نيست و نقش دو رويكرد پيشرفته تحقيق در عمليات در كمك به توسعه پايدار معرفي گرديده است. يافته‌ها: مطالعه حاضر با مروري بر ادبيات پيرامون اخلاقيات در تحقيق در عمليات و علم مديريت، كمكي كه با لحاظ اخلاقيات در اين حوزه به توسعه پايدار مي‌شود، مشخص گرديده است. همچنين دو رويكرد تصميم‌گيري چند معياره با لحاظ كردن ابعاد مختلفي همچون محيطي، اجتماعي و اقتصادي در مواجهه با مسائل توسعه پايدار و پويايي سيستم با قابليت بررسي اثرات بلندمدت تصميمات سياست‌گذاران بر محيط و جامعه معرفي گرديده است. نتيجه‌گيري: رويكرد‌هاي سنتي و تك‌بُعدي تحقيق در عمليات جوابگوي مسائل پيچيده اجتماعي و اخلاقي امروز بشر نيستند. مي‌توان دو رويكرد پيشرفته تصميم‌گيري‌هاي چند معياره و پويايي سيستم را در زمينه حل مسائل مرتبط با توسعه پايدار استفاده كرد. جامعه تحقيق در عمليات و متخصصان آن مؤظف به توسعه و به كارگيري فنوني هستند كه جوابگوي اين مسائل انساني و اجتماعي باشد

Also, two approach multiple criteria decision making with respect to various aspects such as environmental, social and economic issues facing sustainable development and system dynamics with capable of investigatig long-term effects of decisions policy makers on environmental and society has been introduced. Conclusion: Traditional and single-dimensional approaches operations research are not Responsive to complex social and ethical issues today human. can be to use of two advanced approaches system dynamics and multiple criteria decision making in solving the problems of sustainable development.
