Strategic Consequences of Korean Unification

شبه جزيره كره به عنوان سرزميني كهن و استراتژيك، جايگاه يكي از پيچيده‌ترين و دشوارترين معماهاي صحنه بين الملل است و تقسيم شبه جزيره كره را مي توان بزرگترين ميراث باقي مانده از جنگ جهاني دوم در شمال شرقي آسيا دانست. شبه جزيره كره براي قرون متمادي، صحنه نبرد استراتژيك و منفعت طلبانه قدرت‌هاي جهاني و منطقه‌اي بوده است و اين سرزمين به سبب موقعيت ژئوپلتيك خود، كماكان محل تضاد منافع و رقابت قدرت‌هاست. برنامه هسته‌اي كره شمالي و دوپارگي شبه جزيره نه تنها مردمان آن سرزمين، بلكه كل منطقه را تحت تأثير خود قرار داده است. به شكلي كه انتظار مي‌رود، وقوع وحدت در شبه جزيره كره، چهره منطقه و مناسبات قدرت در شمال شرق آسيا را با تحولاتي شگرف روبرو كند. در اين راستا، سوال پژوهش حاضر اين است كه پيامدهاي راهبردي وحدت احتمالي دو كره چه مواردي خواهند بود؟ فرضيه مقاله مدعاي آن است كه وحدت دو كره، ضمن به چالش كشيدن مناسبات امنيتي حاضر در منطقه، موجبات افزايش تنش ميان قدرت ها و افزايش نقش آفريني كره متحد در زمينه هاي سياسي و اقتصادي را فراهم خواهد آورد. روش پژوهش مقاله توصيفي- تحليلي بوده و براي گردآوري اطلاعات مورد نياز آن نيز از روش اسنادي و منابع معتبر اينترنتي استفاده شده است.

Korean Peninsula as an ancient and strategic land, is the place of one of the most complex and difficult riddles of the international scene and the division of Korean Peninsula can be considered the largest remaining legacy of World War II in northeastern Asia. Korean Peninsula have been the strategic battlefield of self-interested global and regional powers for centuries, and due to its geopolitical position still hosts the conflict of regional and global powers’ interests and their competitions. North Korea’s nuclear issue and the division of the peninsula not only has affected the people of this land, but also the whole region of Northeast Asia. Hence, it is expected that the Korean Reunification would cause dramatic changes in the visage of Northeast Asia as well as the regional balance of power. In this regard, the question of present research would be: What are the strategic implications of the probable Korean Reunification? The hypothesis of the paper is that the Korean Reunification, while challenging the current security situation of the region, will increase the tensions among the powers and raise the role of Unified Korea in the political and economic fields
