منغول و مغول؛ بررسي تاريخي ضبط يك نام در تاريخ سيستان

Monγul” and “Moγul; A historical Survey of a Name recorded in the History of Sistan

در كتاب تاريخ سيستان براي ناميدن مهاجمان توراني به سيستان دو نام «منغول» و «مغول» به كار رفته است. مرحوم ملك الشعراي بهار، مصحح كتاب، در حاشيه آورده اند كه واژة «منغول» را منابع اروپايي نقل مي كنند، اما توضيح ديگري در اين باره نمي دهند. تحقيقات درباره تاريخ و زبان مغولي نشان مي دهد كه «منغول» اصيل تر از «مغول» است و با ساده شدن آن يا منشايي غير از زبان مغولي صورت تلفظ «مغول» به وجود آمده است. در متن تاريخ سيستان نيز انطباق دو نام منغول و مغول با سالشمار وقايعي كه در هنگام كاربرد آنها رخ داده است، نشان مي دهد. نويسنده يا نويسندگان تاريخ سيستان در ضبط هر يك از اين نام ها در جاي خود با دقت نظر عمل كرده اند

In the book of Tārix-e-Sistān (History of Sistan), the words “Monγul” and “Moγul” has been used to define the Turanian Invaders of Sistan. Malek o-Sho’arā Bahār, the editor of manuscript, has noted without further explanation that the similar word “Mongol” has been transmitted by European sources. Researches about Mongolian language and history confirms that the word “Monγol” is more accurate than “Moγol” and the latter form is either a simplification of the former or has a non-Mongolian origin. In the text of Tārix-e-Sistān, comparing the occurrence of both words with the chronology of its events indicates that the author(s) in recording those terms, have acted with precise consideration.
