حاكميت، يكي از اساسي ترين مفاهيم مرتبط با شكل گيري و دوام دولت - كشور است، كه به صلاحيت ها و اقتدار دولت آن كشور جنبه مشروع و عيني ميبخشد. اين مفهوم دامنه اعمال اقتدار نظام سياسي و نهادهاي حاكم در درون كشور و در روابط خارجي را تعيين ميكند. عرصه حاكميت كشورها علاوه بر مرزهاي سياسي خشكي در مرزهاي سياسي آبي نيز راه يافته است. در محيط دريايي، كشورهاي ساحلي بعد از خطوط مبدا بر مناطق دريايي با در نظر گرفتن ملاحظات اقتصادي صلاحيت دارند. در اين راستا يكي از ريشه هاي اختلافات از اينجا نشات مي گيرد كه كشورهاي توسعه يافته خواهان تسلط بر مناطق اقتصادي و محدوديت تسلط دولتهاي ساحلي بر آبهاي پيرامون خود بود و هستند. از سوي ديگر، كشورهاي استعمارزده و در حال توسعه خواهان عرض دريايي بيشتري براي حراست اقتصادي از مناطق خشكي خود را مي باشند. در اين پژوهش با هدف بررسي حقوق اقتصادي كشورهاي ساحلي در مناطق مختلف دريايي بر آن هستين اين منطلب را مورد بررسي قرار دهيم و در اين راستا با استفاده از روش كتابخانه اي و فيش برداري به جمع آوري اطلاعات اقدام كنيم.
