Investigating the Problem of the Soul Perfection After Death in Avicenna's Viewpoint

شيخ الرئيس ابن‌سينا، ازجمله فيلسوفان مسلماني است كه با تكيه بر مباني فلسفي خود، به مسئله چيستي نفس، چگونگي بقاي آن و استكمال نفس، توجه ويژه­اي نشان داده است. پژوهش حاضر با پرسش از اين‌كه بوعلي سينا، چه رويكردي نسبت به مسئله استكمال نفس پس از مرگ دارد، مباني فلسفي و موضع او در اين موضوع را مورد بررسي قرار داده است. تبيين نسبت نفس و استكمال، در ضمن پرداختن به مسئله امكان استكمال در حيات پسين و جايگاه عقل فعال، مسيري‌ است كه براي تصوير استكمال نفس پس از مرگ جستجو شده است. حاصل آن‌كه اگرچه جناب شيخ، به‌صراحت در اين خصوص سخني به ميان نمي­آورد، اما با عطف نظر به آراء او، چنين برداشتي امكان­پذير است و نفس‌شناسي استكمال محور بوعلي ظرفيت آن را دارد كه استكمال نفس را به عوالم پسين تعميم دهد. از منظر شيخ، نفس ناطقه مفارق از بدن، به حكم اين‌كه موجودي مجرد است و هر موجود مجرد عين آگاهي و ادراك‌ است، برخوردار از مشاهده و ادراك امور عالم ملكوت بوده و اين مشاهده به معناي اعم، فعل نفس ناطقه به‌شمار مي‌رود. اين فعل همواره انجام مي‌شود و دوام آن مستلزم دوام استكمال نفس خواهد بود؛ هرچند به نظر مي‌رسد، استكمالي كه شيخ از آن سخن مي‌راند، از حد تغيير و تبدل عرضي فراتر نمي‌رود.

Importance of soul entity, incorporeality and its end in all religions lead philosophers to pursue reasonable bases for them. The perfection of the soul after death is one of these religious issues that received increased attention among philosophers. Among all Muslim philosophers who rely on their philosophical foundations, Shaik -al - Rais' Abu Ali Ibn Sina (Avicenna) has paid special attention to the questions about soul and its perfection. Thus, the present article investigates the philosophical foundations and views of this great Islamic thinker about the issue of perfection of the soul after death. In other words, I seek to study whether Avicenna`s philosophy can answer the question of perfection of the soul after death or not. To address the question, I review the possibility of perfection in the afterlife and then explain his views about the perfection of the soul after death. Finally, I conclude that he did not have a clear answer to this question but some important points could be found in his works that lead us to have a better understanding of the issue.
