The purpose of this study was to predict the expectation of marriage based on personality traits and attachment styles in single girls undergraduate students at Tehran University in the second semester of the academic year 1397-1396. In this research, which was correlational, 240 people were selected through multi-stage random sampling. Participants responded to McCrae and Costa's Personality Character Questionnaire (1985), Hazen and Sheaver Attachment Styles (1987), and the expectations of Jones and Nelson (1996) marriage. The results obtained using Pearson correlation coefficient and hierarchical multivariate regression showed that attachment styles can predict 43.7% of the realistic expectations, 16.7% of the ideological expectations and 10% of the pessimistic expectation of marriage. Personality traits can also predict 4.5% of realistic expectations, 5.8% of the idealist expectations and 5.6% of pessimistic expectations of marriage. Both variables of attachment styles and personality traits can expect 48.4% of realistic expectations, 22.5% of idealistic expectations and 15.6% of pessimistic expectations of marriage in the sample group.
