چكيده لاتين :
Electric industry equipment in southern parts of IRAN are facing a lot of damage as a result of corrosive soil containing different kinds of salt and corrosive atmosphere. In this region. Unlike any other regions in the country, corrosion and the change in materials characteristics has been severe. The vastness of the Persian Gulf Coasts has further increased the cost of compensation for the damages.
The present paper is the result of investigations on corrosion behavior of coating for various Insulators, end-fittings. The coatings currently used are galvanized steel, which has lower corrosion resistance than 55%Al-Zn alloy coating. In this research. Atmospheric corrosion test has been used to investigate the behavior of 2 kinds of coating. The results show a higher corrosion resistance for alloy coating. The insulatorʹs end-fittings generally are made of steel, which are coated by hot dip galvanizing. Combination of Al & Zn elements in this coating has better galvanic protection and lower corrosion rate that pure zinc.
