Simulation, Design and Implementation of Static Excitation System of Synchronous Generator

Synchronous generator is considered as the main resource of energy in power system. Excitation system is one of the most important parts of a synchronous generator. A principal characteristic of an efficient system is reliability in any condition as well as stability. One of the most important problems in power plants is the fatigue and ruined condition of their excitation system which are much useful to be superseded by Static Excitation Systems (SES). For investigation of SES, simulation was carried out, performed for a power plant with real quantities and then a low power prototype was implemented, according to SES sensitivity. This paper aims are presenting the simulation results along with steps of design and implementation of a prototype SES as well as implementation results.
