Challenges of the Proposition in Which the Predicate is Negative (Salebahtul-Mahmul)

از مباحث چالش‌برانگيز در دانش منطق، قضيه سالبة‌المحمول است. منطق‌دانان در پذيرش اين قضيه به دو گروه تقسيم شده‌اند و گروهي كه وجود آن را پذيرفته‌اند نيز درباره مفادش هم‌نظر نيستند. گويا خونجي نخستين منطق‌داني است كه از اين قضيه ياد كرده و البته بدون توجه به چالش‌هاي احتمالي درباره سالبة‌المحمول، وجود آن را مسلّم انگاشته و احكام آن را، مانند ديگر قضايا، تفصيل داده است. پس از خونجي، ابهري سالبة‌المحمول را طراحي كرد، ولي استدلالش در اثبات اين قضيه با مخالفت خواجه طوسي روبه‌رو شد. استدلال ابهري و اشكال طوسي پيرواني پيدا كرده و افزون بر آن، استدلال ديگري نيز براي اثبات سالبة‌المحمول ذكر شده كه برخي ديگر آن را نقد كرده‌اند. نگاشته حاضر تلاش دارد با تمركز بر طرح دو مسئله مهم درباره ساختار منطقي و مفاد قضيه سالبة‌المحمول و بررسي سخنان گفته شده درباره اين دو مسئله، نشان دهد كه دليلي محكم براي اثبات سالبة‌المحمول وجود ندارد و اشكالات اين قضيه قوي‌تر از ادله اثبات آن هستند.

One of the most challenging topics in logic knowledge, it is phenomenon of proposition in which the predicate is negative (salebahtul-mahmul), so that logicians have been divided into two groups in accepting this proposition and even the group that has accepted the existence of this proposition has not spoken the same about its meaning. It seems that Afzaluddin Khonji is the first logician to mention this proposition and, of course, regardless of the probable challenges of the salebahtul-mahmul, he has made its existence certain and has stated its rules in detail like other propositions. After Khonji, Athir al-Din Abhari designed the salebahtul-mahamul, but his argument for proving this proposition is opposed by Khajeh Tusi. Both Abhari's argument and Tusi's critique have found followers, and In addition, there is another argument for proving the salebahtul-mahmul proposition, which has been criticized by others. This article focuses on two important issues regarding the logical structure and meaning of the salebahtul-mahmul and review the statements made in these two issues, show that there is no solid reason to prove the salebahtul-mahmul and the problems with this proposition are stronger than the proofs.
