An Investigation of the Mediator Role of Cyber Loafing in the Relationship between Supervisor's Supervision Quality and Academic Procrastination of Ph.D. Students

هدف پژوهش بررسي سهم واسطه گري پرسه زني سايبري در روابط بين كيفيت نظارت استاد راهنما و تعلل ورزي تحصيلي دانشجويان دكتري بود. روش پژوهش توصيفي و از نوع همبستگي بود. نمونه تحقيق شامل 201 نفر از دانشجويان دكتري دانشگاه شيراز بودند، كه با استفاده از شيوه نمونه گيري تصادفي انتخاب شدند. ابزارهاي پژوهش شامل مقياس هاي كيفيت نظارت استاد راهنما (هرمن و همكاران، 2014)، پرسه زني سايبري (درون، 2011) و تعلل ورزي تحصيلي (مك كلوزي، 2011) بودند كه پس از محاسبه روايي و پايايي بين نمونه توزيع و داده ها با استفاده از مدل معادلات ساختاري تحليل شدند. يافته ها نشان داد كه كيفيت نظارت استاد راهنما تاثير منفي و معناداري بر رفتار پرسه زني سايبري دانشجويان دارد، رفتار پرسه زني سايبري تاثير مثبت و معناداري بر افزايش تعلل ورزي دانشجويان در اتمام رساله دكتري دارد، و كيفيت نظارت استاد راهنما تاثير منفي، اما غيرمعنادار بر تعلل ورزي دانشجويان در اتمام رساله دارد.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediator role of cyber loafing in the relationship between supervisor's supervision quality and academic procrastination of Ph.D. students. The research method was descriptive and correlational method. The sample consisted of 102 Ph.D. students from Shiraz University who were selected by random sampling method. The research tools include the supervisor's supervision quality (Herman et al., 1022), cyber loafing (Inside, 1022), and academic procrastination (McCully, 1022) that after calculating their validity and reliability, they were distributed among the samples and the data were analyzed using structural equation model. The findings showed that the supervisor's supervision quality has a significant and negative effect on the student's cyber loafing behavior, and the behavior of cyber loafing has a positive and significant effect on increasing the students' procrastination at the completion of the doctoral dissertation, and the supervisor's supervision quality has a negative, but non-significant effect on students procrastination in complete a thesis.
