نوآوري نوعي كيفيت و تجربه تازه يا دوره جديد كه بيانگر تازگي در زمان حال به عنوان گسست از گذشته و ورود به آينده اي است كه در حال ظهور است و با ايده نوآوري همراه است. براين اساس در اشعار عمري با دو نوع انديشه هاي نوخواهي روبرو مي شويم: 1- نوآوري در محتوا؛ درونمايه هاي اجتماعي و سياسي را در بر مي گيرد. 2- نوآوري در شكل؛ ساختار شكني در اوزان عروضي خليلي و به كار گيري قالب هاي نو شعر است. درونمايه هاي تازه، مانند: عواطف ناسيوناليستي، ميهن دوستي و انديشه هاي ظلم ستيزانه با اسلوب منسجم به دليل وحدت موضوع در اشعار عمري با سبك موجز آشكار گرديد. گاه شرايط سياسي جامعه به گونه اي بود كه شاعر ناگزير قالب هاي كلاسيك و اوزان عروضي را رها كرد و با آزاد انديشي فرم هاي نو را به كار گرفت. از نتايج ارزنده مقاله چنين است: 1- نوآوري هاي شاعر در محتوا كاملا آگاهانه بود، زيرا وي درك كاملي از اوضاع سياسي- اجتماعي روزگار خود داشت؛ در نتيجه عمري شعر را ابزاري هنرمندانه در جهت اداي رسالت ادبي به كار گرفت. 2- نوآوري هاي عمري در شكل آگاهانه نبود؛ زيرا تعداد آن در اشعارش اندك؛و فقط به دليل جولان بخشيدن به انديشه و خيال خويشتن اشكال نوين را با موسيقايي مطبوع به كار گرفت.
