This article describes ethno cultural originality of the Nizhny Novgorod dialect ritual vocabulary. It is shown that the dialect of the ritual text not only reflects many different sides of people s life, but also holds huge information about the values and traditions of that linguisticcultural community. One of the most important stages of the wedding ceremony was purchase and sale, which is archaic in origin. It is noted that rights such as; dowry, the right to travel by wedding train, permission to enter the house, sitting near the bride at the table, eating wedding bread, the bed of the bride, right of wedding night, are redeemed. The repertoire of the names of wedding buyouts in the dialects of the Nizhny Novgorod region is revealed: (а́лом, а́лы, вкла́д, вы́говор, вы́водок, зада́ток, закла́д, зало́г, запро́с, кла́дка, насто́л, нала́ды, на пра́вское, отве́сье, подъём, ря́да, сулёны, насто́льное, вы́говоренные д́еньги, кла́дные де́ньги, кла́дочные де́ньги, насто́льные де́ньги, столо́вые де́ньги, растра́тные де́ньги). It is noted that the names denoting the ransom for the bride, in the Nizhny Novgorod dialects due to the loss of the custom of selling the bride undergo a semantic transformation changed their meaning.
