Impacts of Capacity Building on Women in the Law Profession

In traditional societies, women are under-represented in the law profession in such a way that they constitute approximately one-tenth of the total number of lawyers in Iran. Over the past few decades, due to prevailing restrictions, womenʹs entering into judicial positions has been restricted, decreasing their number in this profession. This article shows that in spite of these different restrictions the number of female trainees in law has increased. Also, female lawyers have joined the board of Bar Association. Clearly womenʹs active presence at managerial level of the association will facilitate changing stereotyping of law profession as a masculine field, also utilizing womenʹs capacities in this specialized profession.
