چكيده لاتين :
The relationships between body measurements (length, wither height and heart girth) and fat-tail measurements (upper, middle and lower width, length, length of gap, depth and upper circumference) with weights of live animal, hot carcass and hot carcass without fat-tail were studied using 724 records measured on Lori-Bakhtiari sheep between 3 months to 6 years old slaughtered at the Industrial of slaughter house of Joneghan in Chaharmohal and Bakhtiari province during 6 months in 2003. The effect of age at slaughter on the all measured traits except hot dressing without fat-tail was highly (p< 0.001) significant. Body condition had significant effect (p < 0.05, 0.001) on the all traits. The least-square means of traits increasing with improved body condition. But the highest value of hot dressing without fat-tail occurred for group of sheep that having body condition score 4. The least-square means of most traits in male were higher than female, but hot dressing without fat-tail and body length in both sex were not significant. The estimation of correlation coefficients among body measurements with live weight, hot carcass and hot carcass without fat-tail were high to very high and positive. The correlation coefficients between fat-tail weight and live weights , hot carcass and hot carcass without fat-tail weights were 0.706, 0.825 and 0.690 respectively. The measure of heart girth accounted for 79.7, 70.4 and 77.2 percent of variation in live weights, hot carcass and hot carcass without fat-tail weights respectively. The live weights accounted for 93.0 and 95.3 percent of variation in hot carcass and hot carcass without fat-tail. Results showed that, weight of live animals, hot carcass and hot carcass without fat-tail in Lori-Bakhtiari sheep breed with very high accuracy can be estimated by measureing of some body parameters and external fat-tail dimension.
