دراين مقاله، جايگاه مادر در خانواده و جامعه، به طور تطبيقي بين ديدگاه اسلام و فمينيسم بررسي مي ­شود. در اسلام راه رفع تبعيض نسبت به زنان را اصلاح ذهنيت ­ها و توجه دادن به اهداف واقعي خلقت و آشنايي زن و مرد، شخصيت و كرامت يكديگر و همچنين تدوين برنامه­ هاي اخلاق محور مي ­داند. موضوعات مربوط به مادري در ميان مجموعه ­اي از بحث ­هاي ايدئولوژيكي، بيولوژيكي و ساخت اجتماعي مطرح مي­ گردد. نيز به نقش زن و ارزش مادري او كه يكي از بحث­ هايي است كه بخش گسترده از انديشه­ هاي فمينيستي را به خود اختصاص داده است، پرداخته مي ­شود.
