Productivity Measurment and Analysis in the Iranian Aluminium Industry

In recent Years, Considerable attempts have been made for introduce the concepts of productivity and itse significance. Indeed, the first goal of National Iranian Productivity Organization (NIPO), i.e. the Promotion of these concepts, has been realized significantly. Therefore, in this paper, the definition and concept of productivity are not mentioned. We will draw attention to productivity measurment in the sole aluminium manufacturer in Iran, i.e. Iranian aluminium Company (IRALCO) at company Level. Will do this by using two prevailing methods including index method & production function. To enter practical discussion, we briefly introduce the aluminium industry and describe how it was shaped in Iran. Then Productirity, based on physical quantities, and product values in constant pvices, in the two reduction and cast workshops, is measured. The comparison among aluminium industry and basic metals industries in Markazi province and total country (ISIC 37) and also total country industries (ISIC3) has been made. In examining the marginal prodvctinity by using production function, reliable resalis are represnted to factory managers and decision -makers.
