The need for customised production, smaller batch sizes and even the possibility of processing a single product are the latest
chal-lenges faced by today’s manufacturing industry.
Complete digitisation of processes, the use of shared resources and efficient data management are key elements for sustainable
development of the new industrial paradigm.
Some time ago System set up an internal department called Digital Industrial Design which brings together electronic, mechanical
and IT engineers, chemists and physicists with the aim of creating an Industry 4.0 model for the ceramic industry
which will serve as a benchmark in Europe and worldwide.
