برخورداري از دانش جغرافياي انتظامي و شناخت عوامل متناسب با حوزه استحفاظي اساسي ترين نياز براي فرماندهان و مديران است و هر مدير يا فرمانده اي كه اشراف بيشتري به محيط پيراموني خود داشته باشد، عالمانه تر و دقيق تر يگان يا واحد خود را هدايت مي نمايد. هدف از اين تحقيق شناسايي عوامل جغرافيايي اعم از طبيعي وانساني مؤثر بر مأموريت‌هاي يگان ويژه و تطبيق آن با طرح‌هاي در حال اجرا مي باشد و از آن-جايي كه نتايج تحقيق به يكي از مشكلات سازمان پاسخ داده و براي آن راه چاره مي انديشد كاربردي است و از نظر روش انجام توصيفي مي باشد. عوامل جغرافياي انساني و طبيعي به عنوان متغيرهاي مستقل مي باشند. همچنين مأموريت‌هاي يگان ويژه به عنوان متغير وابسته در نظر گرفته شده است. براي محاسبه فراواني، درصد فراواني و ترسيم نمودار از روش توصيفي آمار و براي بررسي فرضيات و پاسخ به سوالات مطرح شده از مقادير ميانگين و با بهره‌گيري از نرم افزار SPSS استفاده شده است. به لحاظ محدود بودن جامعه آماري و به منظور بالا بردن دقت ارزش داده ها از جامعه آماري كه تعداد 50 نفر هستند به روش كل شماري نمونه گيري شده است. پرسش‌نامه مورد استفاده از دو بخش اصلي تشكيل شده است. بخش اول در ارتباط با ويژگي‌ها و مشخصات عمومي افراد پاسخگوست و بخش دوم پرسشنامه در ارتباط با بررسي فرضيات تحقيق طراحي شده است و تك تك فرضيات را از نقطه نظر پاسخ دهندگان مورد ارزيابي قرار مي دهد. به منظور طراحي پرسشنامه از سوالات نمونه تحقيقات انجام شده در اين راستا استفاده شده است. با توجه به مقدار آزمون هاي تي و بيونيمال و سطح معناداري 000/. ميتوان با اطمينان 95 درصد بيان كرد كليه عوامل جغرافيايي مطرح شده در پايان نامه و مقايسه با نمره مبناي 3.25 بر ماموريت هاي يگان ويژه تاثير دارند. در مقايسه توصيفي ابعاد مشخص مي شود كه، بعد انساني، با ميانگين 4.29 بيشترين تأثير را داشته و همچنين شاخص راه ها، با ميانگين 4.37 در رتبه نخست و شاخص آب و خاك با ميانگين 3.75 كمترين تأثير را داشته است.
