چكيده فارسي :
عوامل جغرافيايي از ديرباز به عنوان يك عنصر مهم و تأثيرگذار در سياست كشورها مطرح بوده است و در ادامه همين توجه و تمركز بر عنصر جغرافيا، انديشه‌هاي ژئوپوليتيك شكل يافته است. عوامل جغرافيايي به همان ميزان كه در شكل‌گيرى سياست و مقوله سياست‌گذارى در مفهوم كلان آن مؤثر هستند، بر امنيت سياست‌گذاري‌هاي امنيتي نيز تأثير مي‌گذارند. لذا در اين پژوهش سعي شده است به بررسي رابطه جغرافيا و امنيت با تاكيد بر مناطق كردنشين پرداخته شود. در ادامه به مفهوم امنيت جغرافيايي كه بيشتر مورد توجه دستگاه‌هاي امنيتي و انتظامي است پرداخته و بر عواملي چون موقعيت، شكل، وسعت و مشخصات ظاهري كه در امنيت داخلي و ملي كشور مؤثر هستند، تأكيد مي‌شود. عوامل جغرافيايي مثل حضور آمريكا در اطراف مرزهاي غربي، تنوع و تكثر قومي و مذهبي در اين مناطق، قاچاق كالا، بي‌ثباتي كشور عراق و موقعيت كوهستاني اين مناطق مجموعه عواملي هستند كه بر گرفته از موقعيت، شكل، وسعت و مشخصات ظاهري جمهوري اسلامي ايران هستند و كاركردهاي نيروي انتظامي و پليس را تحت تاثير قرار دادهاند. نيروي انتظامي به عنوان مهم‌ترين نيروي متولي امنيت در كشور وظايف مختلف و مهمي دارد. وظايف و مأموريتهاي اين نيرو از برقراري امنيت در داخل شهرها گرفته تا امنيت مرزهاي جمهوري اسلامي ايران را شامل مي‌شود. بخشي از كار ويژه‌اي نيروي انتظامي در ارتباط مستقيم با جغرافيا و مقولات جغرافيايي است.
