نقد و بررسي كتاب ماهيت معرفت عرفاني

Review and critique of Philosophy, theology, and politics: a reading of Benedict Spinoza’s Tractatus theologico-politicus

اين مقاله درصدد آن است كه به نقد و بررسي كتاب «ماهيت معرفت عرفاني» نوشتة مسعود اسماعيلي بپردازد. در بارة معرفت عرفاني و تمايز آن با تجربة عرفاني به زبان‌هاي غيرفارسي آثار بسياري منتشر شده اند اما در زبان فارسي تنها معدودي از پژوهشگران به بحث از آن درچهارچوبي علمي و روشمند پرداخته‌اند. از جمله در كتاب «ماهيت معرفت عرفاني»، نويسنده كوشيده با نگاهي تطبيقي در سامانه‌اي جامع، به بحث از ماهيت معرفت عرفاني در دو فضاي اسلامي و غربي و بيان شباهت‌ها و تفاوت‌هاي آنها بپردازد. اگر ملاك ارزيابي ما، ميزان موفقيت و عدم موفقيت نويسنده در بيان مسأله و بررسي آن باشد، مي­توانيم گفت كه اين كتاب در طرح مباحث تخصصي حوزة فلسفة عرفان، به خوبي عمل كرده است. با اين حال، اين كتاب از كاستي‌هاي صوري و محتوايي از قبيل كاربرد متناوب معرفت عرفاني و تجربة عرفاني به جاي يكديگر و اشكال در تقدم و تاخر برخي از فصول كتاب، خالي نيست. اين كتاب به رغم وجود اين كاستي‌ها اثري قابل قبول در حوزة فلسفة عرفان به نظر مي‌رسد.

Book of Philosophy, theology, and politics: a reading of Benedict Spinoza’s Tractatustheologico-politicus is intended to describe, analyze, and criticize the most important concepts contained in the Spinoza’s book by utilizing its precious resources and with an etymological look. Inner critique in this book outweighs the outer critique. Besides, many references and explanations about Spinoza’s philosophy, Bagley’s work has also become an admirable book among the commentaries or readings of the English-speaking world. Spinoza’s treatise is a book about theology and politics. However, Bagley holds that it is a book about theology and politics that is written by a philosopher. More precisely, it is treatise written by someone whose allegiance is to philosophy rather than either to theology or to politics. This paper makes an effort to introduce, with a descriptive-analytical look, the formal and content structure of the Bagley’s book, and then to discuss its strengths and weaknesses.
