كتاب مقدمه‌اي كاربردي (Metaphor: A Practical Introduction)بر استعاره: نوشته‌ي زولتن كوچش (Zoltan Kovecses) يكي از منابعي‌ست كه با هدف معرفي چند‌جانبه‌ي مفهوم استعاره نوشته شده و ويراست دوم آن در سال 2010 توسط انتشارات دانشگاه آكسفورد منتشر شده است. اين كتاب با عنوان «مقدمه‌اي كاربردي بر استعاره» توسط دكتر شيرين پورابراهيم (1393) ترجمه شده و انتشارات «سمت» آن را به چاپ رسانده است. پژوهش حاضر با هدف معرفي و بررسي نسخه‌ي ترجمه‌شده‌ي اين اثر انجام گرفته است. به اين منظور، در اين نوشتار ابتدا دو نسخه‌ي اصلي و ترجمه معرفي شده‌اند و ويژگي‌هاي شكلي و محتوايي نسخه‌ي ترجمه، با در نظر داشتن نسخه‌ي اصلي كتاب، مورد بررسي قرار گرفته است. نتايج حاصل از اين بررسي‌ها حاكي از اين است كه نسخه‌ي ترجمه، در مجموع، از نظر شكلي و ساختاري، وضعيت خوبي دارد و مقايسه‌ي آن با نسخه‌ي اصلي كتاب، مشخص مي‌كند كه مترجم زمان زيادي را براي ارايه‌ي ترجمه‌اي خوب و روان صرف كرده و در امر ترجمه موفق بوده است. با اين‌حال، برخي از نكات در مورد نسخه‌ي ترجمه‌ي كتاب قابل ذكر است، كه در مقاله‌ي حاضر، نگارنده به آن‌ها پرداخته است.

The book Metaphor, A Practical Introduction by Zoltán KÖvecses is one of the multi-purpose sources to show the meaning of metaphor. The 2nd edition of the book has been published in 2010 by Oxford University. Ms. Shirin Poor Ebrahim has translated the 2nd edition in 2014 which has been published by SAMT Publication. The present research has been done to introduce and study the translated text from various views. In this study at first the original version and its translation have been introduced and the specifications of the translated book with regard to its original versions are studied both from the view of structure and content. The study shows that the translated text as a whole is praiseworthy and the translator has translated the text attentively and patiently, and the outcome is fluent and easily finding. Nevertheless, some points about the Persian text are worth to be mentioned. In the present article the critic has studied the various aspects of the translated book, and has proposed some suggestions to be employed in the second edition.
