هدف مقاله حاضر، بررسي جامعه شناختي رابطه كنش عقلاني و رفتار رانندگي پرخطر با تاكيد بر احتمال جريمه شدن و نگرش به پليس راهور در بين شهروندان شهر اهواز مي باشد. اين تحقيق به صورت پيمايشي و ابزار جمع آوري اطلاعات پرسشنامه مي باشد است جمعيت آماري در اين تحقيق، تمام شهروندان بالاي 18 سال شهرستان اهواز مي باشد، كه حجم نمونه براساس فرمول كوكران 385 نفر تعيين شد. از لحاظ زماني اين پژوهش در سال 1391-1392 اجرا شده است. نتايج تحقيق نشان مي‌دهد كه بين متغير نگرش به پليس راهور و رفتار رانندگي پرخطر رابطه منفي و معناداري وجود دارد، هم چنين بين احتمال جريمه شدن و رفتار رانندگي پرخطر شهروندان اهوازي نيز رابطه معكوس معني داري مشاهده گرديد. از بين متغير هاي جمعيت شناختي (سن، جنسيت، وضعيت تاهل، ميزان تحصيلات)، بين سن و رفتار رانندگي پرخطر شهروندان شهر اهواز رابطه منفي يافت شد و همچنين ميانگين رفتار رانندگي پرخطر برحسب ميزان تحصيلات تفاوت معناداري وجود دارد اما بين جنسيت و وضعيت تاهل با رفتار رانندگي پرخطر رابطه معناداري مشاهده نشد.
