Communication Skills of Public librarians in Fars Province and the Effect of Demographic Variables on It

هدف: هدف پژوهش حاضر، بررسي مهارت‌هاي ارتباطي كتابداران كتابخانههاي عمومي استان فارس و تأثير تعدادي از متغيرهاي جمعيت‌شناختي بر آن است. روش شناسي: اين پژوهش كاربردي و از نوع پيمايشي و ابزار گردآوري داده‌ها پرسشنامه مهارت‌هاي ارتباطي كوئين دام مشتمل بر 34 سؤال و 5 زيرمقياس است. جامعۀ آماري مورد بررسي كل كتابداران كتابخانه‌هاي عمومي استان فارس(350نفر) مي‌باشد. براي تحليل دادهها از آزمون‌هاي t-test، F-test و آمار توصيفي استفاده شد. يافته ها: يافته‌هاي پژوهش نشان مي‌دهد، وضعيت كتابداران كتابخانه‌هاي عمومي استان فارس از نظر مهارت‌هاي ارتباطي كمي بالاتر از متوسط است. بنابراين، از نظر مهارت‌هاي توانايي دريافت با درك پيام‌هاي كلامي و غيركلامي، مديريت عواطف و هيجانات، مهارت گوش دادن، بينش نسبت به فرايند ارتباط و قاطعيت در سطح نسبتأ خوبي هستند. در بررسي تأثير سابقۀ ‌كار، جنسيت، رشته تحصيلي و مقاطع تحصيلي مختلف، نتايج نشان داد بين مهارت‌هاي ارتباطي كتابداران با سوابق كاري مختلف، زن و مرد بودن، رشته علم اطلاعات و دانش‌شناسي و غير از آن و مقطع تحصيلي تفاوتي وجود ندارد. نتيجه گيري : با توجه به اهميت برقراري ارتباط كتابداران با مراجعين براي تعامل مؤثر، نتايج اين تحقيق مي‌تواند در توجه بيشتر به ارتباطات بين فردي و كسب مهارت‌هاي لازم در اين زمينه، براي رساندن كتابخانه‌هاي عمومي به اهداف مفيد باشد.

Purpose: The aim of the present research is to study the communication skills of public librarians, in theFars province and the effect of number of demographic variables. Methodology: This research is an applied research with an analytical method. an‎d Questionnaire by Queen Dom was selected as the research tool, which has 34 items and 5 subscales. The population of this study is all librarians from public libraries in Fars province are (350) person. Descriptive Statistics, F-test and t-test were used for data analysis. Findings: The results research showed that communication skills in public librarians in the fars province is a higher than average. Therefore, on skills, the ability to receive and understand verbal and nonverbal messages, manage emotions, listening skills, insight into the process of communication and decisiveness are in a relatively good level. Also, other results showed that Work experience, gender, discipline and education had no effect on the communication skills in field knowledge and information science with non knowledge and information science. conclusion:Considering that communication is important for librarians to Effective interaction with clients, the results could be useful in more attention to interpersonal communication and skills needed in this area, to achieve the goals of public libraries.
