ايمانوئل سودنبرگ(1688-1772)، عارف مسيحي پروتستان، توانسته بود در ساية درك حقايق شهودي از ظواهر عالم مادي گذر كند و به شهود حقايق عالم واقع نائل آيد و از اين طريق به ساحت معناشناختي وقايع عالم ظاهر دست يابد. انديشة عرفاني ايمانوئل‌ سودنبرگ بر بنياد سه‌اصل مهم شكل مي‌گيرد. نخست اصل‌تناظر كه ركن اصيل انديشة‌عرفاني وي محسوب مي‌شود، به‌گونه‌اي كه حضور پنهان اين‌نظريه در ذيل ديگر آرأ وي نيز قابل ردگيري است. دومين ركن انديشة‌عرفاني سودنبرگ در قالب ارائة تفسيري متفاوت از متن كتاب‌مقدّس و با استفاده از مؤلفه‌هاي نمادشناسانه محقق مي‌شود كه در اين‌راستا منجر به‌شكل‌گيري تفسيري تأويل‌گرايانه و نمادين از آيات كتاب‌مقدّس مي‌شود كه درخور توجه اهل‌نظر و محققان است. وي در سومين ركن انديشة‌ عرفاني خود به‌تبيين دوره‌هاي مختلف بشريت و چگونگي ارتباط انسان با عوالم‌معنوي مي‌پردازد كه حكايت از آغازي بسيار نوراني، و انجامي همراه با غربت و فراق و اميدوار به‌ رسيدن به‌ روشنايي دارد.

Swedenborg also saw the material and spiritual worlds as having an adaptable design and pattern that could be unified. In this article, we try to explain the principles of Immanuel Swedenborg's mystical thought based on his personality and religious characteristics and his scientific position and spiritual experience.
