The Role of Precipitation and Elevation in Determine of the Favorable Area for Dry-Farming Wheat with Usage of GIS Study Case: Ardebil Province

Dry-farming wheat in supply needed food of country is very important. About 15 percent of Ardebil province cultivation levels belonges to the dry-farming wheat, that its plantation and performance is related to the monthly precipitation distribution (growth duration).This is sure that working system and this strategic product working is depending on how much precipitation is usually in the month, in the year, and the area height. The goal of this searching is, to understand what are the role of raining and area elevation in choosing fitting areas for dry-farming wheat in the Ardebil province. For this aim, first precipitation inputes of 15 stations from 1976 to 2004 collected and analyzed Then with using of numeral topography plan of province in 1/250000 scale suitable area for dry-farming wheat is identified by Geographic Information System (GIS). The results firstly represent these facts: the amount of precipitation and elevation are the important cases in determining dry-farming wheat. Secondly: adjustable productive layers in dry-farming wheat system in GIS climate is possible to definition suitable areas for dry-farming wheat.
