Income Distribution Analysis in Sistan and Balouchestan Urban Area

Nowadays it is recognized that income distribution has important role on social gaps and poverty. So the aim of this article is to investigate income distribution in urban area of Sistan and Balouchestan province, since 1997 to 2001. The GINI coefficient technique by two methods are used Results reveal that inequality in urban area has increased from 0.35 in 1997 to 0.44 in 2001. Also GINI coefficient comparison between the high – income families and low- income families has shown that inequality within the former group, is more than the lasted in the study time period. So that the amount of this coefficient increased from. 0.15 in 1997 to 0.26 in 2001 for the tenth decile and decreased from 0.17 to 0.12 for the firsi decile in the same period. On the other hand, the results have indicated that poverty is not bounded to the first income group in this society.
