خداوند متعال در قرآن كريم، علاوه بر ارائه سبك زندگي اسلامي به عنوان يگانه سبك برتر و مورد تأييد و توصيه خود به انسان؛ علل و منشأ گرايش برخي انسان‌ها به ساير سبك‌هاي زندگي را بيان نموده است تا انسان، آگاه به علل و عواملي شود كه او و جوامعِ انساني را به سبك خاصي از زندگي، سوق داده يا از انتخاب و پيمودن سبك برتر، واداشته است. دين اسلام؛ سبك و شيوه‌اي از زندگي است كه منشأ خداوندي دارد و علل پيدايش يا شيوع سبك‌هايي از زندگي كه بدون استمداد از وحي و تسليم شدن مطلق به توصيه‌هاي خداوند متعال، ترسيم يا پويش مي‌شوند؛ انقطاع از خداوند و گرايش به غير او مي‌باشد. جهل و ناداني؛ تقليد و ايستايي؛ سفاهت و بي عقلي؛ كبر و نخوت؛ تكذيب و رويگرداني؛ بهانه گيري و توقّع؛ هوا پرستي و دنيا گرايي؛ غفلت و فراموشي؛ اغواء و فريب شيطان؛ حسادت و زياده خواهي؛ از جمله علل و عوامل محروم ماندن از دين الهي و گرايش به ساير سبك‌هاي زندگي است.
