تروريسم به عنوان پديده‌ي شومي كه سال‌هاست جامعه‌ي جهاني به خصوص منطقه‌ي غرب آسيا را دستخوش بحران‌ها و آسيب‌هاي جبران‌ناپذيري نموده و به تعبيري درد مشترك همگان شده است؛ نه تنها مهار نشده بلكه با سازمان يافته تر شدن گروه‌‌ها و ظهور و بروز مصاديقي به مراتب نفرت‌پراكن‌تر همچون داعش همراه بوده است. همگام با اين توسعه‌ي كيفي و كمي، اقدامات نهادها و سازمان‌هاي متعدد نقش‌آفرين در عرصه‌ي مبارزه با تروريسم نيز در حال افزايش و تحول است كه در اين ميان مي‌توان به فعاليت‌ها و ظرفيت‌هاي اينترپل به عنوان دومين سازمان بزرگ بين‌المللي اشاره نمود. در اين پژوهش به روش تركيبي كتابخانه‌اي و مشاهده به توصيف و تحليل امكان‌هاي اينترپل از جمله اعلان‌ها، تعاملات پليسي دوجانبه و چندجانبه، تشكيل گروه‌هاي ضربت منطقه‌اي و همكاري در استرداد مجرمين پرداخته شده است. نتيجه‌ي حاصل علاوه بر لزوم توجه جدي به ظرفيت‌هاي منحصر به فرد اين سازمان در عرصه‌ي مبارزه با تروريسم، مؤيد مغفول ماندن بسياري از امكان‌هاي اينترپل از جمله ساير اعلان‌ها غير از قرمز و همچنين تعاملات ويژه و دوجانبه‌ي پليس‌هاي دنيا در نظر كارشناسان ذي‌ربط در دستگاه هاي مختلف است.
