Ceramica Sant’Agostino has made a series of major investments in recent years, culminating last year in a plant engineering project involving the adoption of a new production line for large-size tiles. The project began in the summer of 2014 as part of reconstruction work following the 2012 earthquake and was concluded in May 2017 with the start-up of the plant. This new production line joined the four already in operation - three for the production of tiles in sizes up to 90x90 cm and 60x120 cm
and one for double-fired wall tiles and smaller-sized porcelain tiles. The heart of the new plant is the Lamgea 33000 mouldless press, designed in a fully customised version capable of producing base panels of various thicknesses in the maximum sizes of 1200x4800 mm and 900x5400 mm, which are then cut to produce large-size submultiples using the pre-firing cutting system installed on the machine
