بررسي و نقد كتاب سعدي و جانسون؛ دو ناهم‌زبان هم‌دل

A Critique on the Book “Johnson and Sa’di: Two Intimate Strangers”

كتاب سعدي و جانسون؛ دو ناهمزبان همدل اثر هلن اوليايي­نيا اثري است در قلمرو ادبيات تطبيقي (فارسي ـ انگليسي) كه به تأثيرپذيري كتاب سرگذشت راسلاس شاهزادۀ حبشي (1759) ساموئل جانسون از گلستان سعدي مي­پردازد. كتاب حاضر در چهارچوب ادبيات تطبيقي، خاصه مكتب فرانسوي، قرار مي­گيرد، زيرا اوليايي­نيا بر اساس منابع معتبر و درجه اول يك­يك اين موارد تأثيرپذيري را برشمرده است. يكي از مهم­ترين حوزه ­هاي پژوهشي مكتب تطبيقيِ فرانسوي بررسي روابط ادبي، خاصه تأثير و تأثرات بين نويسندگان و شاعران ادبيات كشورهاي مختلف است. مقاله حاضر به بررسي اين كتاب در قلمرو ادبيات تطبيقي، به ويژه مطالعات تأثير و تأثر، مي­پردازد. اين مقاله داري سه بخش اصلي است: بخش اول به معرفي اثر و نويسندۀ آن مي­پردازد و نقاط قوت و ضعف آن را مشخص مي­كند. بخش دوم دربارۀ تحليل صوري كتاب است و نقائص آن را بر مي­شمرد. و بخش سوم به تحليل محتوايي اثر مي­پردازد. در پايان اين بخش نكاتي عرضه شده كه به غناي اين اثر كمك مي­كند. نتيجه تحقيق اين كه نمي­توان مدعاي نويسنده كه جانسون از طريق ترجمه هاي لاتين و فرانسوي از آثار فارسي با سعدي و اثرش آشنا شده و از آن در نگارش راسلاس به ويژه از لحاظ ساختار، مضمون و شيوۀ روايي تأثير پذيرفته را قبول كرد

“Johnson and Sa’di: Two Intimate Strangers”, written by Helen Ouliaeinia, is a very useful work in the realm of Persian-English comparative literature. It deals with the unorthodox structural and thematic similarities (and somehow differences) between Johnson’s The History of Rasselas, Prince of Abissinia and S’adi's Golestan. She tries to show documentarily that Johnson’s Rasselas has been probably influenced both structurally and thematically by the great Persian poet and writer Sa’di of Shiraz. The present book falls within the realm of the French school of comparative literature, especially “influence studies”. The present paper is composed of three major sections. The first section introduces the author and his seminal book. The second part tries to discuss the book in terms of formal features. Here, typographical errors and some stylistic shortcomings are highlighted. The last section deals with the content of the book. At the end of this part, some points are suggested to enrich the text. To sum up, it is too difficult to accept the author’s claims about Johnsons’ influences.
