مقوله‌ي امنيت و اهميت نقش و كاركرد پليس در فراهم آوردن زمينه‌ها و بسترهاي عملي و رواني تامين آن در جامعه، از جمله مباحث عمده در ميان محققان و محافل امنيتي و انتظامي بوده است و اين امر ضرورت بررسي و تحليل ساز و كارهاي دروني پليس و تعامل آن با ديگر بخش‌هاي نظام سياسي و مردم را جهت ايفاي هرچه بهتر رسالت خطير آن در تامين امنيت اجتماعي مي‌طلبد. يكي از سازمان‌هايي كه به طور مستقيم مسئوليت تامين نظم و امنيت داخلي و آسايش عمومي كشور را بر عهده دارد، نيروي انتظامي جمهوري اسلامي ايران است كه جهت انجام اين ماموريت خطير نيازمند ارتباط با جامعه، همراهي مردم و شناسايي مخاطبان مي‌باشد. از اين رو در اين تحقيق به بررسي نقش و جايگاه مردم در همراهي با پليس، براي تداوم امنيت اجتماعي پرداخته شده است. اين تحقيق به روش كتابخانه‌اي و با استفاده از تكنيك فيش برداري اجرا شده است. نتايج حاكي از آن بود كه مشاركت مردم و سهيم كردن آنها در برقراري امنيت با محور تصميم‌گيري، بسيار حائز اهميت مي‌باشد و مي‌تواند در تامين و ارتقاء امنيت اجتماعي نقش بسزايي داشته باشد. لذا گروه‌هاي مشاركتي مردم اعم از زن و مرد با همكاري پليس مي‌توانند در تامين و ارتقاء امنيت فردي و اجتماعي و پايداري آن موفقيت‌هاي شاياني را كسب نمايند.

The issue of security and the importance of the role and function of the police in providing practical and psychological contexts for its provision in society have been among the major issues among researchers and security and law enforcement circles. This necessitates the study and analysis of internal police mechanisms and interaction. It calls on other parts of the political system and the people to better fulfill its serious mission of providing social security. One of the organizations that is directly responsible for ensuring internal order and security and public welfare of the country is the police force of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which in order to carry out this serious mission requires communication with society, people's support and audience identification. Therefore, in this study, the role and position of people in working with the police to maintain social security has been investigated. This research has been carried out by the library method using the fish taking technique. The results showed that people's participation and participation in establishing security with a focus on decision-making is very important and can play a significant role in providing and promoting social security. Therefore, participatory groups of people, both men and women, with the cooperation of the police, can achieve significant success in providing and promoting individual and social security and its sustainability.
