از زمان‌هاي بسيار دور بندركنگ درزمينۀ دريانوردي ولنج سازي داراي شهرت فراواني بوده است ولنجهاي مختلفي ساخته مي‌شد.براي ساختن لنج ابتدا ناخدا يا تاجري كه مي‌خواست لنجي را اوشار كند به نزد استادلنج ساز مي‌رفت و سفارش ساخت لنج مي‌داد. لنج در نزديكي ساحل ساخته مي‌شد.بعد از چند ماه كار بر روي لنج به اتمام مي‌رسيد و درنهايت صاحب لنج مي‌بايست آن لنج را به دريا بيندازد.اوشار سه الي چهار روز طول مي‌كشد تا اين جهاز به داخل آب انداخته شود.اوشار ازجمله آيين­هاي ديرپاي مردمان ساحل‌نشين هرمزگان،به‌ويژه بندر كنگ-ازبنادر مهم در تاريخ دريانوردي ايران-است كه در گستره چندين قرن اهميت خاصي در مراسم به آب انداختن لنج برخوردار بوده است.يافته‌هاي اين مقاله بر پايه‌ي نظريه انسان‌شناختي اميل دوركيم و با استفاده از روش نشانه‌شناسي به توصيف چگونگي معنا بخشي و هم‌نشيني نشانه‌ها در متن آيين اوشار در كنار يكديگر پرداخته و همچنين نحوه شكل­ گيري همبستگي اجتماعي در درون اين آيين دريايي را نشان مي‌دهد نتيجه نشان مي‌دهد كه آيين اوشار در ايجاد وجدان جمعي و حفظ همبستگي اجتماعي براي ادامه حياتِ مفيد و ثمربخش جوامع، بسيار مهم و تعيين‌كننده است.
