اين مقاله به پويش‌هاي ژئوپليتيك انرژي عراق و تحولات سياسي و اقتصادي جهاني و منطقه‌اي مترتب بر آن در آينده مي‌پردازد. هدف نويسندگان تحليل روندهاي كلان مؤثر بر صنعت انرژي عراق به‌منظور ارائه تصويري روشن از آينده كنشگري ايران در ژئوپليتيك انرژي اين كشور است. سياست عراق مبني بر تنوع‌بخشي بر مبادي واردات انرژي، توسعه زيرساخت انرژي‌هاي تجديد پذير، گسترش سرمايه‌گذاري خارجي و درعين‌حال تحريم‌هاي اقتصادي ايالات‌متحده امريكا، ازجمله روندهاي اثرگذار در آينده كنشگري ايران در ژئوپليتيك انرژي عراق است. بر اين اساس، سؤال مقاله اين است كه كلان‌روندهاي سياسي و اقتصادي حاكم بر بازار انرژي عراق، چه تأثيري بر جايگاه ايران در آينده ژئوپليتيك انرژي اين كشور خواهد داشت؟ استدلال نويسندگان اين است كه تداوم روندهاي سياسي و اقتصادي كلان موجود در ميان‌مدت، موجب مي‌شود مزيت انحصاري ژئوپليتيك ايران در شبكه اقتصاد انرژي عراق با چالش مواجه شود. روش پژوهش مبتني بر تحليل روند بوده است.
