In analysing this proposition, we come to two kinds of certainty (logical and empirical) and two kinds of discourse about death (definition of death and its criterion). Logical certainty is no longer considered in philosophical knowledge, let alone the empirical one. And no one says that brain death is the definition of death because the definition is a philosophical and/or theological matter, not an empirical one. So the title boils down to this; "is brain death with empirical certainty, the criterion of death?" Given the general attitude of religious people (including philosphers) that death is irreversible separation of soul from body, and given some arguments that are mentioned in the text, we have a negative answer to this question.
