Mediating Role of Self Esteem in the Relationship between Parent-Child Relationship with Empathy

هدف اين پژوهش تعيين نقش واسطه‌اي حرمت خود در ارتباط والد‌ـ كودك با همدلي بود. بدين منظور 295 دانش‌آموز دورة متوسطة دوم منطقة شش تهران در سال تحصيلي 1398-1397 به شيوة خوشه‌اي مرحله‌اي انتخاب شدند و به اندازه همدلي و هم‌احساسي نوجوانان (وزن، پيوتروسكي و والكنبرگ، 2015)، سياهه حرمت خود كوپراسميت (1990) و پرسش‌نامة ارتباط والد‌ـ كودك (فاين و شوئبل، 1983) پاسخ دادند. تحليل يافته ها با آزمون همبستگي و تحليل مسير صورت گرفت و نتايج نشان داد حرمت خود و ارتباط والد‌ـ كودك با همدلي رابطة مثبت دارند و ارتباط والد‌ـ كودك هم با حرمت خود رابطة مثبت داشت. نتايج نقش واسطهاي حرمت خود را در رابطه والد‌ـ كودك و همدلي تأييد كرد. با توجه به نتايج اين پژوهش، ارتباط والد‌ـ كودك باعث شكل‌گيري حرمت خود مي‌شود و بر آن تأثير مي‌گذارد و به واسطة حرمت خود نيز ارتباط والد‌ـ كودك با همدلي رابطه دارد.

This study aimed to determine the mediating role of self-esteem in the relationship between parent-child relationship and empathy. Participants comprised 295 secondary school students from Tehran, District 6 in the academic year of 1397-1389, selected by cluster sampling method. The participants completed the Adolescent Measure of Empathy and Sympathy (Vossen, Piotrowski, & Valkenburg, 2015), Self-Esteem Inventory (Coopersmith, 1990), and Parent-Child Relationship Questionnaire (Fine, Moreland & Schwebel, 1983). The results of the correlation test and path analysis showed that self-esteem has a positive relationship with empathy, and the parent-child relationship has a positive relationship with empathy and self-esteem in adolescents. Therefore Self-esteem plays a mediating role in the relationship between parent-child relationship and empathy. In general, findings show that the parent-child relationship forms and affects self-esteem. Due to its sanctity, the parent-child relationship is also related to empathy.
