چكيده فارسي :
در دهه‌هاي اخير روايت و روايت‌شناسي، به بحث‌هاي نسبتا نويني در نقد ادبي تبديل شده است. كساني مانند ولاديمير پراپ، اي. جي گرماس و تزوتان تودورف پيشگامان رويكرد ساخت‌گرا هستند. بر نظريه-پردازاني مانند ژرار ژنت تاثير گذاشته‌اند. نظريه ژنت بر پنج مفهوم محوري كه شامل نظم، تداوم ، بسامد، وجه و لحن استوار است. اين پنج اصل ژنت را بر داستان شمسه و قهقهه- از كتاب محبوب القلوب - به عنوان يكي از متون داستاني قرن دهم، با شيوۀ كتابخانه‌اي و تحليلي بررسي نموديم. تا قابليت و شگردهاي روايي را با بررسي و تحليل متن كشف نمائيم و به ساختار منسجم و دقيق روايت اثر پي ببريم.
نتايج اين پژوهش بعد از بررسي و تطبيق متن با نظريه ژنت، بدين شرح است كه، اين متن از نظر زماني عدول از روال خطي را ندارد، روايت گذشته‌نگر است، حوادث با شخصيت‌ها پيش مي‌رود. در بحث تداوم به علّت توجه نويسنده در همۀ قسمت‌هاي داستان به درنگ توصيفي و شرح وقايع با جزئيات، شتاب منفي است و اين روند تا پايان داستان ادامه مي‌يابد. بسامد نيز از نوع مكرر است كه تاكيدي بر اهداف نويسنده در درون‌مايه داستان است. راوي داناي كل است، نوع كانوني‌شدگي آن متغير و به شخصيت‌هاي داستان وابسته است. در ابتدا داستان ، لحن اول شخص دارد ، اما در حكايت‌هاي اپيزودي با روايت‌هاي سوم شخص ادامه مي‌يابد.
