براساس ديدگاه اقتصاددانان نهادگرا، ضعف ساختار و عملكرد نهادها يكي از دلايل توسعه نيافتگي كشورها است. حكمراني خوب به عنوان فرصتي براي افزايش رشد اقتصادي، امنيت اقتصادي و بهبود فضاي كسب وكار مي تواند نقش بسزايي در رسيدن به اهداف توسعه پايدار ايفا كند. امروزه تمايلات زيادي براي درك ماهيت مولفه هاي حكمراني به عنوان ابزار ارتقاء فرايند توسعه يافتگي وجود دارد. در اين مسير ايجاد شفافيت اطلاعاتي و توليد، تحليل و ارائه اطلاعات درست، دقيق و به‌روز و دسترسي آزاد به اطلاعات نيز از موارد ضروري به نظر مي‌رسد، به موازات پايبندي و اجراي اين اصول توسط حاكميت هر كشوري، ضروري است تشكل‌ها در حوزه اقتصادي تلاش كرده و از بخش خصوصي و توسعه آن در كشور پشتيباني كنند و براي ترويج و نهادينه‌كردن رقابت‌پذيري در اقتصاد كشور به عنوان يكي از اركان حكمراني خوب، اقدامات لازم را انجام دهند كه مي‌توان به مواردي از قبيل ارتقاي توانمندي بخش خصوصي در كشور، ترويج و نهادينه‌كردن كارآيي، اثربخشي و كارآمدي در همه برنامه‌هاي اقتصادي و صنعتي، كمك به ارتقاي توانمندي، دانش و مهارت حرفه‌اي بخش خصوصي، كمك به افزايش قابليت‌هاي مديريتي، پشتيباني از عرضه كالاها و خدمات باكيفيت، برنامه‌ريزي و اقدام در جهت پيشبرد فناوري و قابليت‌هاي تكنيكي بخش خصوصي و افزايش مطلوبيت بخش خصوصي در جامعه اشاره كرد؛ اين نوشتار باهدف كاربردي و بصورت توصيفي انجام‌شده‌است، توصيفي از اين جهت كه به مطالعه وضعيت كنوني نظام بانكي بر اساس مؤلفه هاي حكمراني خوب مي‌پردازد.
