THE EFFECT OF TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY ON LIVING CONDITION OF SCORPIONS IN LABORATORY

For the sake of temperature and humidity suitable on preservation and rearing of three species scorpions (B. sulcyi, B. jayakari & B. schach) the effect of four different ranges of temperature (25-29°, 30-34°, 35-39° & 40-44°c and two humidity ranges of 50-60% and 60-70% under lab condition were studied. Each type of scorpions was divided randomly in eight groups. The number of B. jayakari , B. sulcyi & B. schach was 12 , 21 and 10 chosen kept in single suitable cell and delivered to their cages. The cages are equipped to moisture, temperature and length of day controling system. During the study, the data related to the scorpions in each cage at flat length of day (12 hrs) , food (kind and frequency) were kept. The results showed that the rate of mortality of scorpions at flat humidity and increasing temperature was going up. The mortality rate in four aforementioned temperatures was between 50 to 60% in case of B. jayakari 0-8.3%, B. schach 50-100% and B. sulcyi 23.8-100%. By increasing the partial humidity in each case from 50-60 % to 60-70%, the rate of mortality was decreased and had about one month longer life .The rate of mortality in temp ranges and humidity 60-70 % in these three species in B. jayakari, B. sulcyi and B. schach was properly 0-16.6%, 19-100% and 20-90% was varied. The results showed that these three species of scorpions probably has the least rate of mortality in 25-29 temp. and 60-70% partial moisture under lab condition. Among these three species, B.jayakari had the least mortality rate and more resistance to changes of temperature and moisture under lab condition.
